For me, travel and photography have always been the perfect escape. Like you, I crave the ability to step out of my own world and into another, whether it be across the ocean or across my own backyard. There's magic in seeing the world through another culture or perspective whether observing a native fire-walking ceremony in Fiji or watching a caterpillar morph into a butterfly in my garden.

Wherever my journeys take me, the one path I follow is the light. The difference between a snapshot and a gallery image is usually found in the lighting, the simplicity, and the composition of a subject. Once I've found my light, then I find my subject. And once I've found my subject, then I find my composition. In those rare moments when all three come together, I am usually holding my breath!

It's my sincere hope that your journey on this site will be time well spent and that, at least once or twice, you'll find a photo, a journey, or a moment that makes you hold your breath. Because if you feel your eyes open a little wider, your heart beat a little faster, and your breathing pause for just a moment, you'll know the wonder and beauty I felt the moment I pressed the shutter.
